La Crosse Technology 616-41667-INT Black Atomic Projection Alarm Clock with Temperature

Boy, I sort of like following the weather and checking it out. Around 2 to 3 years ago I purchased another foreign brand that looked good, but after setting it up the Interior temperature was off three degrees. I checked the thermostat and even had regular thermometers check the temperature, and they both verified the unit was indeed three degrees off. I contacted the company and they stated three degrees off is acceptable!.. I stated not in America and he would not back down. I was really upset by it. I just purchased this brand "La Crosse" and what a well designed and accurate unit they have made. Both in and out temperatures are right on, and with the addition of an Atomic Clock it put together a great system. The size, ease of setup, and overall design was thought out with an attitude of understanding a customers needs and desires. I recommend this unit completely!

Bought this as a gift for my wife, as we had a similar clock prior to moving. Over time, the older clock just needed to be replaced. I searched and found this one. Read all the reviews, and decided it was worth a shot. Well, happy to report that it works almost the same as the other clock, which is a good thing. The arm swivels so that you are able to aim the ‘night’ clock at any position on the ceiling. The night clock is red and not overly bright once against the ceiling. It is easy to read, as expected. The face of the regular clock is a nice tone. It does turn off at night so you aren’t disturbed while sleeping. Comes with a power cord. The menu is easy so set up was a breeze, for time, alarms, and the night clock. Overall, worth having a new one.

I purchased 2 of these. They arrived over night as promised. Packed well and arrived undamaged, that’s a plus. I bought these to replace 2 similar style clocks, because I needed battery backup, due to the fact that Nashville, TN HAS UNRELIABLE POWER SERVICE. I have lived all over the country and have never had so many power outages. These clocks use 3 AA batteries for backup ( not included ). My only disappointment with them is, they don’t project Time and indoor, outdoors on the ceiling at the same time. I miss that feature. But they due project a nice easy to read beam on the ceiling and the clock face is also easy to read. I will be keeping them because of our cities constant power outages. The owners manual states that the ceiling beam can be set to alternate between time, indoor temperature and outside temperature, but I haven’t been successful with that setting yet. I will keep trying. If you are OK with what I have mentioned about this clock then you will enjoy owning it.

If you have this near your bed and like the room to be dark, it has an automatic dimming feature that you can set to turn the back light off at an hour of your choosing. The types of clocks with color screens need a constant backlight to be legible and I found them too bright for the room or not bright enough to be legible. The projector works well and has a high and low setting. I suspect that some reviews that mention a small size for the projected temps and time are for a different model. Notice that some reviews are more than 10 years old. Many of these items try to fit too many features into a small screen leaving all features hard to read. Not the case with this item. This is a basic clock and in/out thermometer. My opinion, if you want a weather station you probably don't want it in your bedroom. "Monitors Indoor and Wireless Outdoor temperature (°F/°C) with trend arrows; Charge devices with 1 amp USB charging port; Customized calendar: full weekday, day/month/date, alarm time" This web description is not true, for the Silver version. NO USB port on this item. Look at photos, you won't see one. I do not use the alarm, the soft music from your phone is a much better way to wake up. One month later I especially like the auto dimming feature. The display works perfectly, large and legible.

Great clock, works very well. I will say, you do NOT need to use the outside temperature monitor, the clock is dead on accurate with the temp as well as the time and I have not even put batteries in the outside temp monitor. I like that alot!

Nice projection output. Larger and clearer than other clocks I tried and then returned. It also has a better angle and rotation knob so you can angle the clock and straighten the display on the ceiling. It projects time only, indoor temp only, outdoor only or scrolls all three changing every few seconds. Nice unit, I'm keeping this one.

Followed the instructions exactly but after waiting two days the unit still was not picking up the atomic clock. Also, the unit is on my bedside table facing me so that I can see it when I am on my side, but that results in the projection on the ceiling being at an angle and cannot be rotated enough so that it is straight when I am on my back. Went to the instructions using the QR code but that was just a lengthy manual that you had to scroll through and not interactive. Called the help line and was told: 1. Atomic clock: "It can take up to five days of searching to sync with the atomic clock. This is stated in the manual." When I asked where that was stated on the included instructions, I was told that I would have to go to the website and it would be there. 2. Projection angle: "You will have to rotate the unit if you want the projection to be straight when lying on your back." That means that I would not be able to see the clock face when lying on my side or in the morning when the projection is not visible. My previous Lacrosse weather station did not have either of these problems but it died after several years. Made in China.

This clock has accurate atomic time. You never need to set it. The temperature reading is accurate as well, both inside and out. We have four very different La Crosse weather clocks, which all read off the same outdoor transmitter, the first one we set up to use with the first clock we bought a number of years ago. We keep the other transmitters that came with each successive clock in a drawer in case the one outside breaks. As soon as you set up a new clock, it immediately begins reading off the old transmitter. We especially like the fully adjustable time projector which displays the time on the ceiling. It can be adjusted 360° and in dim, bright or off settings. The main display can also be adjusted to lights off, which is our preference.

There is no power going from my socket to the clock. Anyone else has the same problem?

Fantastic clock, I am very happy with it. It looks superb, very modern and chic. Made of good quality materials. My wife and I are both thrilled. I had three minor issues: The remote temperature sensor would not talk to the clock. La Crosse Technology technical support is great. It was fixed quickly, as the procedure is very simple once you know it. The clock did not automatically switch back to standard time. Tom in technical support explained this takes up to 5 nights to switch, as it is only done at night. Thanks, Tom! Both issues were quickly fixed within about 5 minutes on the phone. The third issue was entirely my fault. Note: if the projector keeps shutting off after about 10 seconds, ensure the power adapter is plugged into an outlet that has electricity. Yeah, my wife got a chuckle out of that one when she solved it. What is even more funny, is I am an electronics expert and should have known better. The clock help documentation could be greatly improved on the website and/or PDF. The projector is not a separate clock, thank goodness. The clock now matches all of my other clocks that are synced with the atomic clocks. The projected time is bright and huge, both of which me and my wife really like. I really like this clock. It has made my life easier when clocks change, or there is a power outage, which we get a few times a year. It has saved me a lot of frustration.
