Drop D3 Wireless Temperature, Humidity and Pressure Data Logger, Red

In these days of persnickety Bluetooth gadgets that fall in and out of pairing, this device works ... all the time ... with multiple devices. Just crank up the app and it downloads logged temperature and humidity data, everything since the last download.

I was initially quite disappointed with the accuracy of this device. Testing it against known temps were giving wildly inconsistent responses - 5 degrees high, 10 degrees low, it was awful. Then I walked away to do something else, came back a half hour later and it matched the control temp. It is cool and calm today. Setting it outside with no wind blowing, it seems to take 5-10 minutes to settle in and match my control device. I'm ok with that, as my primary objective is learning how cold it got outside my tent last night while I slept. It should do just fine for that. It won't be so useful hanging off my pack as I hike since that's constant movement in and out of shade and wind currents, but that's ok.

Amazing that the Drop 3 app will display Station Pressure, but not Barometric Pressure! Be advised: "There is no barometric pressure reading on the DROP D3. Currently only station pressure is provided. Station pressure is the pressure felt at the current location without adjusting for altitude." Incredible that baro pressure is not an option when the app could easily accommodate the data in the Drop 3. And as others have noted, the battery will drain down, since there is no on/off feature. This could have been built into the Status button, like maybe a double press might toggle on/off....but no such luck. Have to either remove the battery, or reinstall plastic battery tab. Crazy design for the price!

Well made, easy to use with phone App. Seems to be accurate. Very handy/convenient. Made in USA. The blue-tooth range is limited.

The unit I received had been used before. The box was not sealed, the battery tab had been pulled, and there was data in the log dated 3/8/2018.

Works as advertised, surprisingly good battery life, now 6 weeks on one 2032 battery

Boggles my mind that it only provides station pressure and not adjusted barometric pressure. Seems a trivial calculation within the app.
