It heats very quickly and looks good. and the water delivery is accurate and doesn't spit or splash--we all remember those college tea urns that spat and spluttered, and where you'd jump each time you were hit by the scalding water. This is not like that. The only slight criticism is that I feel the quality of the plastic tap is not as good as the overall urn quality; it has a bit of a flimsy feel when you flick it down into its permanent open position, and I'd like something just a little smoother in its action, and with less of a jolt. But it works fine and is responsive. The urn holds 20 litres so, that's a lot of teas!
