I'm not sure. If you go to the Oboz website, it suggests they are made in Montana. But if you look further about their "manufacturing standards" you will see a list of things that they are committed to, like not using child labor, no involuntary labor, paying people fairly, treat all with dignity and respect, etc. That sounds to me as if it's a mixed review; they don't make them on site but treat laborers overseas well. This was a gift for a son in law; he swears by these shoes and wanted another pair, so they are terrific, but they are vague about where they are actually constructed. My guess is overseas but they state not in abusive situations. Best guess.

It seems like there is a midfoot drop in this shoe, is it really noticable? The tendons in my feet are very sensitive to heel drop and the like.

I don't have a clear answer for you. I only know that my feet and lower legs were very painfuil at the end of the day.. I suspect it had to do with poor arch support.

does water come through holes in the suede upper? are there any holes?

No holes. I don’t know about water, I wear them as a casual shoe. I would not recommend these shoes. The material in the heal cup has disintegrated in a very short time. Super disappointed with them.

How are these for summer use? Do your feet get really sweaty? How is the breathability? Thanks

I really like this shoe. Cooler than my other Oboz - more like a canvas shoe but with traction and style.
