I originally bought size 9, which is what I normally wear. Normally when a review says to size up for shoes, i still fit in 9 since one of my feet are 8.5. I do not have wide, big, thick or deformed feet. The foot bed traction and arch support was perfect. The look was great. The part that holds in your foot on top was so tight it imprinted itself onto my foot so I bought a size 9.5. The only difference is that the foot bed is longer, too long for me. The top part was even tighter than the size 9 so there is no point going for a bigger size. It's too bad because I really liked them and need arch support. 7-30-19 Update, I have found a physical store that sells Keen Sandals. Apparently the ones I tried on here do not have stretchy material which is why the top parts have been so tight. Also, it was suggested I get mens becasue they do make them a little looser. So if anyone really wants a pair of these, try out mens and make sure you get a style that is stretchy. I got Mens 8, I usually wear Womens's 9I hope this helps. So far I am loving the new pair I bought from the store.

This is my second pair. I wore out my first pair by wearing them as all purpose sandals, which isn't really for what they're designed. Even doing that, they made it for a year pulling double duty as my river kayaking/fishing shoes and casual everyday stompers. I find them very comfortable (obviously), but I would offer one cautionary note: if your activity is in waters that have pebbly or gravelly bottoms, you will have some of the said pebbles get trapped under the soles of your feet. They're a bugger to get out. Traction is good as they have good tread and they provide excellent toe protection for when you stumble dragging your kayak through the rocky shallows. As for fit, I wear a size 9, and these fit true to size.
