One, it is summer, so I wanted a tank top that was 100% cotton. I can't believe how hard it was to find something that wasn't completely ugly to fit the bill. Two, I use self-tanner regularly, and my 100% white tank top was well, just sad-looking.After reading the reviews, I ascertained that the quality of the material was good, but got the feeling that this tank top ran small...very small. I am a medium (8-10), and I wanted the tank top to let my skin breathe as opposed to being form fitting. Rather than go with a large, I thought I would be safe and order an extra-large - and boy is it extra-large!! I probably should have returned it for a size large, but decided to just keep it. I figured it would maybe shrink with a wash anyway. That said, other reviews said the top shrank down quite a bit, which is common with 100% cotton, so I decided to simply hand wash mine. Besides, it will last longer this way.I really like the style, although it is ridiculously big on me to wear outdoors while walking the dogs. I wear it to walk the dogs anyway, though. haha The cotton does feel like it is good quality, and if I remember correctly, the tag says it is made in Turkey. I have some towels that were made in Turkey and the cotton feels amazing, so I guess it makes sense!Overall, I am pleased with the purchase for what I needed it for. Unfortunately I feel like the tank top is a little too warm for me, but I have some hormonal issues right now that I am balancing (pre-menopause be damned!), so it could be me. I don't know if they have updated their sizing chart, but if I wanted to wear this out and planned to hand-wash it, I would probably purchase a medium, or at the VERY most, a size large. I ordered the black, size Large, and it fits great. I just ordered another. (I tried the v-neck cut but it did not fit right so I returned that.) I may order a white in this one as well. I wish there was a beige/tan color. It is hard to find good quality, cotton camisoles. (Tag says 100% cotton). It works under all those sheer tops and blouses. It lays nicely with a little bit of cling. It is soft and comfortable. It pretty much looks like it does on the model picture. Be sure to wash it on delicate/cold and hang it dry (like the directions say).
