It offers professional-grade durability, sensor-safe formulation, and versatile use on headers, manifolds, and turbocharged parts. Low odor, non-toxic, and OEM specified, it’s the go-to choice for mechanics and serious DIYers seeking reliable, long-lasting seals. ## Description Permatex Optimum Easy-Disassembly Red RTV Silicone Gasket Maker is the maximum-temperature formula that seals strong and removes fast. Optimum Red is Permatex’s maximum-temperature RTV gasket maker, rated up to 750°F (399°C) intermittent, higher than Ultra Copper and regular RTV Red. It resists high thermal cycling, which makes it a strong fit for exhaust manifolds, headers, turbochargers and slip-fit exhaust parts. It is OEM specified, sensor safe and non-corrosive, and it can be used in place of pre-cut gaskets. The easy-disassembly feature saves time on the next teardown. Apply Optimum Red as you would any RTV gasket maker. When it is time to take the assembly apart, loosen the components and peel the cured gasket away with your fingers. Less scraping and cleanup means faster service and more time spent on the repair itself. For best results, load the cartridge into a standard caulking gun and apply a continuous bead to clean, dry, oil-free flange surfaces, circling all bolt holes before assembly. For more than a century, Permatex has supplied chemical solutions for automotive maintenance and repair, earning the trust of professional technicians and enthusiasts alike. ## Features - Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker: Optimum Red withstands up to 750°F (399°C) intermittent with easy-disassembly performance - Seals Strong, Removes Fast: Loosen the parts at your next service and peel the gasket away by hand; no scraping means less downtime on exhaust manifolds, headers, turbochargers and slip-fit exhaust parts - Built for Extreme Heat: Resists high thermal cycling and is rated higher than Ultra Copper and regular RTV Red; OEM specified, sensor safe and non-corrosive for technicians, performance builders and DIYers - Simple Application: Load the cartridge into a standard caulking gun, apply a continuous bead to clean, dry, oil-free flanges, circling all bolt holes, and assemble; can be used in place of traditional pre-cut gaskets - Trusted by Professionals Since 1909: Permatex has developed chemical solutions for automotive maintenance and repair for more than a century; our gasket makers are formulated to help pros and DIYers get the job done right ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B08CRYCZ91 | | Best Sellers Rank | #32,642 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #153 in Automotive Fillers, Adhesives & Sealants | | Brand Name | Permatex | | Color | Optimum Red | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars (459) | | EU Spare Part Availability Duration | 5 Years | | Included Components | Optimum Red High Temperature Gasket Maker | | Item Highlight | High Temperature up to 650F Intermittent, Resistant to Thermal Cycling, Sensor Safe, Non-Corrosive, OEM Specified | | Item Thickness | 0.2 Inches | | Item Type Name | Permatex Optimum Red High Temperature Gasket Maker 3.35 oz | | Manufacturer | Permatex | | Material Type | Silicone | | Model | 27038 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | 27038 | | UPC | 686226987631 686226270382 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Upper Temperature Rating | 750 Degrees Fahrenheit | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Permatex - **Colour:** Optimum Red - **Item thickness:** 0.2 Inches - **Material:** Silicone - **Upper temperature rating:** 750 Degrees Fahrenheit ## Images ![Permatex 27038 Optimum Red High Temperature Gasket Maker 3.35 oz - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/813a9mGj4BL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - Permatex 27038 Optimum Red High Temperature Gasket Maker, 3 oz - Permatex 85080 Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, Sensor Safe And Non-Corrosive, For High Flex And Oil Resistant Applications 9.5 oz - Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, 3 oz.
