desertcart.com: Celtic Tales: Fairy Tales and Stories of Enchantment from Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, and Wales: 9781452151755: Forrester, Kate: Books Review: Beautifully bound, entertaining collection of Celtic tales - This is a beautifully bound, entertaining collection of Celtic tales. If you like this book, I'd also recommend WB Yeats' book on the Fairy Tales and Folk Tales of Ireland, as many of the stories in this book originally come from Yeats' book. (The stories in this book are slightly rewritten to be a bit shorter and easier to read, so they are not as well-written as Yeats' originals, but it's still a nice rendition. It's also interesting to have the Welsh, Scottish, and Breton tales included in this collection as well.) This book would make a great gift. The ribbon book mark is a nice touch, and each story is accompanied by a pleasant, Celtic-inspired illustration. Review: Short but Fun - This has a number of myths from the Celtic nations. It is well illustrated and is an easy read. I quite enjoyed it.

Simple, Yet Fun Adventures.
I have always loved Celtic stories and fairy tales. I have surprisingly never read any of the stories available in this book. I personally would have liked a little more illustration as it helps the kids better visualize, but the stories are great.

Must Read for those who enjoy Different Cultures
I love reading stories from other cultures, especially childrens tales as I feel they give a good picture of how that culture has formed and developed their beliefs over time. These stories seem to capture this more so than other collections have; in addition, there are many unique stories as well. The variety of tales, the descriptions and vividness of them all capture the readers attention. The pictures included just added to the stories.

A fun read!
The stories are very enjoyable! It’s a great read aloud book to children ages 4+ If you’re familiar with any fairytales or legends, you’ll find all of the same themes here with a magical or mysterious plot twist usually bringing about the justice we long for!

Good Folktales
A pleasant collection of fairytales and folk-tales from four Celtic regions: Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Brittany. The stories were sourced from Project Guttenburg, the archive website, and sacred-text dot com. They're all public domain, but I didn't know they existed in publicly accessible (and free of charge) websites.😮 Still... This ebook wasn't terribly expensive and I learned that there's all these great resources that I can plumb for free lovely fairy and folk tales all I want. The author(?) / compiler includes hyperlinks in the back to the websites that house these stories and more. The artwork that's included in the ebook is quaint and matches the themes of each of the stories.☺

Wales and Ireland with language and beautiful artwork that incorporates elements of the story in the ...
These are unusual stories that capture the feel of England, Wales and Ireland with language and beautiful artwork that incorporates elements of the story in the details of the wood cut. I highly recommend the book to those looking to share their Celtic heritage with their children (or grandparents!). Update: My 8 year old twin nieces and I have almost finished every tale and we all love them. While I need to occasionally translate a few of the Celtic words for them, the unusual words add an air of mystery and authenticness to the tales. But what I love about the stories is that they are UNPREDICTABLE! and when you think that the author is about to tie the tale up with a traditional "happy ever after" ending, there's often a surprising twist. My brother has started reading the companion Ghostly Tales to them and I hear that they cannot put it down at bedtime!
