There are two tabs to snap each case close and it snaps tight. I don't see any gaps that would allow any water or such to get inside them.There's a handle which is tight up against the case, it takes a bit of wiggling to get my fingers under it and it raises just enough to carry from room to room, which is all I really need a handle for.My issue is that it opens more or less in the center, dividing the case in half, versus a container in which just the top opens. It's about 2" deep, so you can put a 2" stack of papers in to it, but when you open it, half that stack is just resting on top of the lower papers and not confined in the container (photo 2). What this means for me is that when it's open, if I bump it or my table, etc. half the stack slides out of the container.
