I'm forever trying to find unique decor for my house and saw a similar clock on the wall of an apartment/house in the background of some show I was watching (can't remember which one). I immediately wanted one for myself and thus now have one on a once bare space to the left of my fridge. It's plastic, yes, but doesn't appear to be all that cheap and it's also not as loud as some of the reviewers would have you believe. You can hear it tick-tock but it's not annoying or distracting. It's actually a really homey sound likely due to the fact that my grandmother always had grandfather clocks in her house. In any event, I love this clock and it looks superb on my apricot colored kitchen wall. The cat is larger than the other clock I had before called a Kit-Cat clock and I think it looks better. This clock has some personality and looks just like Felix the Cat. The tail swings wildly. It does make a fairly loud ticking sound when the tail goes back and forth so you probably wouldn't want one right by your bed. The large eyes tick back and forth and he has a huge smile.
