A: cr 1225 button style battey

**Q: Can this be immersed in the ocean or a lake to measure water temperature?  Only 5 feet deep is the max intended.**
A: well it's water proof, but will it hold up to salt water and 5 feet deep. who knows? it's a pretty good product.

**Q: How do you clean it. It states it is waterproof so can it be cleaned entirely under faucet?**
A: yes it can be washed.
