i bought these wheel disc. they are thick, any ideas what tool I can use to lock them in place on the angle grinder? the pins are to short.

I use the standard nut on the bottom that I use on standard grinding wheels. Or are you saying the pins on the spanned wrench are too short? I have always just done them hand tight. Have bought and used over 50 of these.
