CYCPLUS Cycling Speed & Cadence Sensor, Bluetooth & ANT+, IP67 Waterproof

Am using the Cycplus Sensor in cadence mode for a VERY old beater commuter bike. Paired with an old Garmin 520 head unit. It connected in seconds and as others have mentioned I really like the slide setting on back for cadence or speed (pictures included). There is a plastic disc under battery that needs to be removed to activate the unit. Like that it’s a standard CR2032 battery. Pay attention to using the proper pad for crank, although either would probably still work. Given my use didn’t want to spend top dollar for a Garmin sensor, and am really happy with the Cycplus sensor. Know Cycplus brand as I was given a compact electric pump as a present and their service for accessories was great. The mounting band worked on my crank fine. Have to say the Garmin cadence sensor on my sweet ride is a triple band mount. Please also note when measuring my extra Garmin round and cadence mounting bands I have laying around the Garmin’s are slightly thicker (pictures included) than the Cycplus. The Cycplus comes with two bands that are the same size. If one had a thicker crank arm a larger single band and/or using one band high and low may be needed? If they didn’t fit maybe look for larger round Garmin o-ring bands? I have a Garmin 1040 Solar for sweet ride and tested pairing with the Cycplus and it worked great too. Can’t speak to battery life but like knowing a branded CR2032 is very available. So, easy to mount to my crank, wasy to pair, known brand, flexible for speed or cadence, and a value price point.

I have owned a few sensors of a different brand which required removal of the battery and reinstallation to change between cadence and speed. In short, dealing with a battery change was always a pain. The toggle switch on the Cycplus alone makes it a superior choice. Additionally, pairing with my watch and bike computer occurred instantaneously and performance has been consistent and accurate. I will never buy any other brand of speed/cadence sensor.

This has worked flawlessly for me, and the price is right! I had some difficulty pairing this with my iPhone Pro 14 Max for some reason, but I have not had any issues since then. I did wake the device up, so that was not the problem. For some reason it would not show up on my phone, and then after multiple restarts and power cycle of all devices involved, it just showed up and I was able to pair it. I currently use this indoors with Zwift. In my setup I'm using Apple TV 4k for Zwift, and the Zwift Companion app on my phone to pair all of my Bluetooth devices, including the Cycplus, a Wahoo Heart Rate Monitor and the Power and Speed sensors in my Wahoo Kickr Snap trainer. It's all working flawlessly. In case it helps anyone, you have to use the Companion app on a mobile device because Apple TV only supports two Bluetooth devices with Zwift, and I needed four. One last note: I use this in Cadence mode, and I have to say that it's really nice that unlike other inexpensive devices I have had in the past, you don't have to remove the battery to change modes. You simply turn the battery cover in one direction for Cadence and the other for Speed, and you get two different color flashing LED's signifying which mode you're in. Both modes are clearly marked on the back as well.

I was impressed! I've used only Garmin product until now. Why? I was tired of buy another Cadence sensor from Garmin, just to see it go south after a short time of use. This product from CYCPLUS was why too easy to set up & my Garmin CPU sync it right away. Now, I hope for longevity. Time will tell.

Purchased this awhile back for use on one of my bikes that is at my in-laws house. Was planning a multi day self supported tour and didn't have a ANT+ sensor on the bike up there. Instead of removing and bringing my Garmin one, I bought this CYCPLUS one. It didn't work then. Would be really spotty about pairing with a Garmin Edge 130. Fast forward some time, I brought it home and had it on my shelf. Have another newer Garmin since then and thought I'd try it on my city bike / hybrid bike. Set up ok, but even with new battery it would lose signal from the Garmin. I'd only know this as the Garmin popped up a notification every time it would re-connnect. I've had other sensors, both Garmin and also third party. All have been reasonable and easy to use except this one. Not the best in quality and way past time I can send back. Save your money. Time to pass this one by.

These sensors have performed reliably with no known hiccups in the twenty or so rides I have used them since purchasing. They paired readily to my IGPSports computer. Switching between speed and cadence is easy and having that capability is a very handy feature. I wasn't wearing my reading glasses when I opened the battery cover in poor lighting, so I mangled the retaining tabs a little bit. Their customer service sent me a free replacement sensor even though they didn't have to for a mishap that was my own fault. This was a pleasant surprise. Read the instructions and familiarize yourself with the procedure before opening the battery cover. Until you get used to it, it operates differently from the cycling computer parts I have used in the past. Once you know how, it is very easy. I would also exercise care when attaching the rubber bands to the tabs on the sensor. If you manage to break them, mounting it might become problematic, and they appear somewhat vulnerable to damage during the mounting process because you have to fight the resistance of the bands quite a bit.

I bought this sensor along with a bike computer and a mount. I have issues with both the computer and the mount but this sensor has been pretty great. I set it to speed sensor and mounted it to my wheel using the included rubber bands. I used it with the cycplus m3 and it worked well. When I returned the M3, I went out and purchased a Coros Dura computer and paired this sensor to it with no issues. It works really well and has stayed connected during my rides. For the price, I may purchase a second one to use as a cadence sensor.

Works well and really helps, but the fastener broke on second ride, I almost lost the device (luckily I previously saw the review that it is possible). Most likely this is because sneakers touches the fastener during cycling. Instead of rubber ring it should probably be double side 3M tape or something flat to be durable.
