Q: Is the black blue color the same as the yellow one or is it an updated version?

I didn't buy this one but bought one with a shorter head. A short head will allow you to get into tighter places but that depends on your situation. My two cents. I did likewise with an impact wrench.

The charger for the battery is a one piece transformer and cord. I haven't had any problem with mine.
