However, I am pleasantly surprised. These are good quality, both pair, and work as intended. THE only reason for 4 stars is the construction of the precision tuners...the metal handles need to be slightly bigger in girth as it is easy to pinch your fingers on the locking mechanism, especially with larger than average hands. I had read it in previous reviews but assumed they were talking about the ratchet trimmers...big mistake! LOL ### ⭐⭐ Ratchet pruners useless after 6 months *by L***. on July 13, 2017* These were a gift for my mother. Here is her report: "The ratchet pruners turned into junk within 6 months. The ratchet adjustment no longer works, and something is wrong with the spring so the pruners don't open back up after making a cut. The oil container was never in the handle. I haven't used the little ones very much, but they seem good so far. That's why I gave the pair two stars--it would be zero for the ratchet pruners.
