They're wider than the 1 inch NRS straps I've been using and I don't think they hold tension quite as well but they have these really cool neoprene Velcro covers that you can loop up the rest of your strap that's not being used and secure it. My kayak slipped back 6 inches the first day I tried the straps out ( as seen in the picture), the paddleboard didn't slip at all, and today the kayak slipped back about 2 inches when I was driving. While I don't think that the strap secure my kayak as well as they do the paddleboard, I like using them better on the kayak because on the paddleboard the neoprene sleeve tends to bunch up weird. The other advantage of the straps is when you throw your strap over your paddleboard or kayak and it hits the side of your car that neoprene sleeve will protect your car from any damage from the metal cam. The neoprene sleeve also protects your epoxy board from the metal cam. I do like cam straps for paddle boards because epoxy and fiberglass boards can be damaged by overtightening a strap like a ratchet strap. Overall, I really like the straps. I do wish they were only 1 inch wide because I think they're easier to deal with. These arent as heavy as my NRS straps. The straps that I had first had a square end instead of the angled and like the straps have and when they started to fray it was almost impossible to get the strap through the cam. Not just for paddle boards but for anything I will be keeping these in my van for whatever I want to tie onto the top of my van. 'these are two 1.5 inches wide webbed straps with a neoprene strap cover over the locking heavy duty buckle. I love that the neoprene strap velcros over the buckle so that the metal won't scratch the roof of my van.I will be using these for our kayaks and anything I buy that is oversized.My husband just came in and surprised me as I was testing the buckle. He said what are you doing with that strap. I told him to go away this one is mine since he just stole all the bungee cords I bought for myself. These are going into my van under lock and key.
