These worked out great. All my other posts were part of the deck support and I was worried these would be a little shaky. With rails coming from two directions they are solid. I also got the post trim rings to cover them. Good product.

Client changed install order to add posts and handrails. Using these enabled us to install handrail system topically. This would not be code compliant at deck system above 16 inches above ground. However they work quite well

I used these on a small deck/stair system that was just barely under the requirement for rails, but felt safer having the rails. I don't think they would meet code anywhere on higher decks, but they are super sturdy the way I installed. Lowe's sells some black 3" hex screws that fit through the holes perfectly. I added a piece of wood beneath the deck to give more to grab onto, and this worked great. My sister was surprised at how sturdy it was. It looks good, too.

I didn’t use these as a main anchor. I don’t believe they would be safe enough to hold a deck railing specific to safety. I used this between two solid anchor points where I needed to transition to the stairs, about 2 feet from a solid anchored 4x4. They look ok and work well. Getting it square and keep it square on install was a little challenging.

I've used these to mount Bird houses and feeders to the top of a 4x4 post. Holds them steady and secure.

Honestly I am surprised out how good they worked. Just plan ahead and they get the work great. Verdict is out on how they hold up though.

These are just the perfect hardware to use to install a railing on a deck. We had never seen them before and my neighbors bought them from Amazon. They made our deck railings so easy to install and are very sturdy

Used to mount an end post for a hand rail assembly. was easy to use, took up minimum space and made the end post rock solid.

These mounts are a good weight - should stand up over time. The finish is also excellent - the 6 that I ordered arrived loose in a bag, but they didn't have a chip or scratch on any of them anywhere. Impressive. I agree with other reviewers that there should be something that helps align them when attaching them to the post bottom. Perhaps a simple adhesive label that you stuck on the bottom of the post with some red dots on it that you could use to easily get the alignment perfect.

I used these on our back deck to install a privacy screen. They are very sturdy although I wouldn't use them for anything other than I light weight project, something you won't be leaning against all the time. I built a two sided screen and it's nice and stable, some people are complaining how it's hard to get them square on the post bottom but if you know how to use a measuring tape it's extremely easy to mark out where you need to pre drill the mounting holes.

bought two of these to add to a pack of 4 that I recently purchased for my dock railing and these are quite heavier than the other brand and will use these heavier ones on the end posts of the railing
