What actually arrived was 10 packs of plasters each containing five plasters. I therefore needed to revise my views concerning value for money.Whilst it’s good to get 50 plasters rather than 10, I expect in a domestic environment this is overkill. The plasters are large and are suited to significant cuts. These plasters are far too large to help stop bleeding from a cut finger. If you purchased a pack of general use plasters that suited most domestic settings you’d get a range of small and large plasters, but typically only a couple of plasters of this size would be included.So I don’t think these plasters will be much used and each of the 10 packs has a use-by date of November 2023, around 30 months from my review. I think I’ll end up throwing several unopened packs out.In terms of their use, these are excellent plasters which, as I’ve noted, will safely cover a large cut, and cover that cut with an antibacterial coating. The plasters are also breathable so are unlikely to damage skin. Each plaster is individually wrapped which inspires further trust in them.So good plasters worth five stars, but in a home environment I think they’re worth only three. Most people will simply not need the number of plasters supplied over 2.5 years. It’s notable that Elastoplast describe the plasters as bring as “Sensitive wound dressings to protect medium and large wounds. Other brands never seem to stick or last as well. These large plasters will come in handy but you hope to never need them. They seem a bit big for kids but we had a first go after a gardening mishap on an adult (me). A plaster covered up well on my hand after some enthusiastic bush pruning and stayed in place so I could finish the job. The plasters are anti bacterial and they are much larger than most plasters you get. These are not the type of plasters for small areas such as fingers etc. They are more suited for larger areas such as injuries/cuts etc on arms, legs, stomach etc. These plasters are hypoallergenic and each plaster comes in a sterile pack. We’ve had the bad fortune to use these plasters several times in the last few weeks due to cuts/grazes/gashes whilst my son was playing football. The plasters do stick well and are relatively easy to remove. The wound pad contains silver which is known for its anti bacterial effect and for its healing properties. This helps to keep the wound area sterile and free of infection. I can definitely say these plasters live up to what I expect from the Elastoplast brand name - even though I would hesitate to pay the current price of £38.35.
