Gotoh Magnum Lock-Trad 3+3 Guitar Tuners with Keystone Knobs, Chrome

Ordered these from Stewmac through Amazon. Solid company with premium grade parts and tools. Your guitar is important. Don't buy cheap Chinese junk... These locking tuners themselves are so far beyond the stock Gibson tuners; You can't even compare them. An hour of hard playing and the strings are still in tune! The original tuners would require tuning every few songs. My guitar is a Gibson SG. One of my original tuners got bent, so I had been looking to replace it. To buy a single, original replacement tuner from Gibson was $42. So instead I started shopping around for locking tuners as an upgrade. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I finally decided between the Hipshot and Gotoh tuners. Both are solid options and affordable with the full sets running in the $60-ish range. The final decision for going with Gotoh was that they're a direct drop in replacement. They use the same screw holes as the original Gibson tuners. The Hipshot tuners use mounting plates instead and I didn't want the plates to potentially damage the finish on the back of the headstock. One point of note when installing them. They come with 6 screws for mounting. I did not not use them because they are a coarser thread than the original screws. The original screws work perfect and you don't need to worry about cross-threading anything.
