A book for learners of all ages containing the best and most updated advice on learning from neuroscience and cognitive psychology. Do you spend too much time learning with disappointing results? Do you find it difficult to remember what you read? Do you put off studying because it’s boring and you’re easily distracted? This book is for you. Dr. Barbara Oakley and Olav Schewe have both struggled in the past with their learning. But they have found techniques to help them master any material. Building on insights from neuroscience and cognitive psychology, they give you a crash course to improve your ability to learn, no matter what the subject is. Through their decades of writing, teaching, and research on learning, the authors have developed deep connections with experts from a vast array of disciplines. And it’s all honed with feedback from thousands of students who have themselves gone through the trenches of learning. Successful learners gradually add tools and techniques to their mental toolbox, and they think critically about their learning to determine when and how to best use their mental tools. That allows these learners to make the best use of their brains, whether those brains seem “naturally” geared toward learning or not. This book will teach you how you can do the same. Geared towards education
The book offers tips for studying more than general learning for educational purposes. The pages, at least in my version, were all backwards, so I had to read the book from back to front, opposite of the covers.

I wish I had read this when I was 15
Of course, the science wasn’t yet done, but every child should be given access to this material. I’m constantly learning and will be changing some of my methods to match the books recommendations. Can’t praise this book enough!

A Practical Guide to Learning
The book successfully covers different learning techniques. It’s easy to read and remember. The topics include focus, creative thinking, reading effectively, planning, habits, metacognition and taking tests. Although it’s more geared towards to studying, you can use it for learning other practices. There’s no unnecessary stories or fluff material. It has takeaways and good summaries.

To the point
Over the past year I've read over 10 books on the subject of efficient learning like UltraLearning by Scott H. Young and How We Learn by Stanislas Dehaene. This book gets to the point that a lot of the work by the previously mentioned authors takes ages to nail down and does so very consicely. The downside is that it does not delve too deeply into studies or the underlying science, but I believe cutting that for brevity was an intentional choice, as their inclusion in other works can sometimes make the reading experience drag. Knowing the intricate workings of myelin in the brain will not, unfortunately, make your own myelin work harder. Knowing the learning principles that properly stimulates your brain will, and this book cuts to them quickly. Do not let a 1 star review about what's included in the sample (of all things man, come on) turn you off of buying this book. Despite what that review might suggest, rating the contents of an ebook sample is not, in fact, a fair rating of the contents of the book.

You should mention “Printed by Amazon italia”
Cheap paper cover printed by Amazon Italia Logistica Srl There isn’t any protective foiling on the paper Could have done the same by printing the book on my home printer At least mention the origin of the publisher Original book OR copy made through the self publishing paperback printing Amazon program

Consejos útiles, basado en trabajos previos, resumen, similar a "Learning How To Learn"
Compré este libro tras leer "Learning How To Learn".
