I have a pair of wharfedale diamond 10.1s that i am considering upgrading. how would you compare the dali spektor 2?

I had a pair of Wharefedale Diamond 10.7s for several years and have a lot of experience with them. The Specktors I have had for a couple of years now and they have a wonderfully bright and transparent tweeter that extends bar beyond the ability of the Wharfedales, which tend to be warmer and roll off at a lower frequency than the Specktors. The bass response I would guess will be similar. I have never heard the 10.1s and cannot speak for their bass, but I can say confidently that the largest difference between the Specktor and the Wharefedale will be the tweeter. The Specktors have a very “forward” tweeter and tend to be agressive with some material until broken in. The tweeter can sometimes even sound harsh, but with that comes wonderful detail and transparency. Once broken in they will be less harsh and are truly a great speaker, but If you prefer a “warm” sound than the Wharfedale’s will suit you better.

Is the weight of each speaker 18.48 lbs. or is it for both?

Pretty sure that would be for the pair, so roughly 9.25 lbs for each speaker. These are compact, light speakers. They sound amazing for their size.

Is that a wood veneer or pictures of wood on tape?

It's wood veneer. Walnut in this case.
