A: Hey Scott, apparently it would fit, since the rothco GI type plastic machete sheath measures 3 in W x .5 in H x 18.5 in L. Actually, I tried to insert a pack of cigarettes inside and it fits perfect, in fact it has .5 in width left. You can reach a pack of cigarettes and compare it to the GI sheath. Good luck.

**Q: is the plastic insert removable ?**
A: Yes it is removable, just be careful, when I got mine they fold it for shipping so the plastic got broken
