I am all about smoothies. I am all about healthy food and taking care of oneself. These were not my favorite if I am being perfectly honest. I was looking for healthy snacks to take on the go so I purchased these. I am usually a fan of strawberry banana smoothies. They were okay, I just thought the taste of them was very gritty. I am a texture eater, so these did not go well for me. Luckily one of my kids liked them so they were gone.

I have super greens and super foods powder that I usually use to make smoothies. The powders by themselves taste quite bland. I find that addicting banana to the mix often improves the taste tremendously but bananas tend to go bad quickly. That is where this product comes in. I now have banana and strawberry that this product provides, ready to mix into my smoothie at a moment's notice. It is rich, very thick and a bit granular in texture. It is not something I think I can enjoy alone in my usually smoothie as I fill a 64oz bottle, so a lot of ice and water is used that can easily dilute the mix. I can't really comment on how it affects my energy levels as my super greens and super foods powder already have a positive impact on that and this product is used in conjunction with the powders to enhance the flavor while having a longer shelf life than bananas as strawberries alone.

I have gastroparesis and was really hoping these smoothie pouches would be an option for long road trips. Unfortunately, the taste and texture are both REALLY awful. The smoothie tastes too sweet although there is no added sugar...at at the same time, I can taste some of the vitamins. I don't know if everyone would though, as I have a discerning palate. The color is extremely unappetizing, too, and the smoothie is too thick. I don't think I could even add it in to anything without ruining whatever this gets put in. These smoothies to me are honestly just about impossible to get down, I dislike them so much. I was hoping I'd acquire the taste, but I threw all the rest of the smoothies away in a few days. A real waste of money since they cost too much to start with for the small amount of protein and other nutrients that you get. I learned from my nutritionist that you need to eat/drink at least 14% of whatever it is that you need on the nutrition label to get an amount that your body needs. This smoothie has only 5% protein, which does not do it for me. You may want to read the nutrition label for yourself. Only 4 ingredients in this smoothie pouch has above 14% daily value included in the pouch. (I posted a pic for you.) I will not buy the superfood smoothie pouches again. I do not recommend them at all. I have eaten all kinds of foods and drinks from many cultures. I've had all sorts of food and drinks concoctions and am currently vegetarian. I am open to new tastes. But this smoothie is in the top 5 worst things I have ever tasted. If you must try these, get one from a brick and mortar store first to see if you like it. Bottom line: 1 Star. NOT recommended.
