I'm an engineer and whilst I haven't owned a scope at home for years I have used some very high end scopes at work. This is not a high end scope, the software is laggy on changing settings. I have not compared it real time so can't comment on it's performance directly but when looking at complex modulated signals I never have the suspicion of loosing edges or transient responses. What I will say is that the additional functions such as decoders are fantastic. If you are thinking of buying this for general home use buy it - and do yourself a favour but the one with the inbuilt function generator!
