How well does this tent fare against bedbugs at all stages?

I sent one to a friend who lived in a bedbug INFESTED dormitory situation and he said the tent worked perfectly for keeping out bugs! Highly recommended!

Will this keep out scorpions, provided it is kept zipped? (Going camping in West Texas)

Yes, it will keep out scorpions, although it is possible that a scorpion could sting a person through the netting if the person's body is in contact with the netting and if the scorpion felt threatened (very unlikely, unless the person rolled over onto a scorpion that was at the edge of the tent. Bottom line - scorpions aren't looking for trouble and you should be just fine! Have fun! (- response of an entomologist who is also a SansBug tent owner)

Does it offer any sun protection?

Maybe a little on the top, but we used ours inside the tent for protection from mosquitos.

Is this treated with permethrin?

I have no idea. You could contact the manufacturer and ask. We used it for 2 nights on a trip and no longer need it. There is nothing wrong with it, and it is in excellent to like new condition. Thank you.
