This book gives you 40 examples, or at least the downloads from the website listed in the book does, each has a copy of the data and a solved “Answer Sheet.” The object is to select the data and Insert a Pivot Table (the last three chapters also have you Insert a Pivot Chart.) Then you can compare your answer to the “Answer Sheet” and verify you have the same result, although you may need the Switch Row/Column, or in my case look at the names carefully. I spent an hour on the last example because I had selected Batwoman instead of Batman.All examples use the same data set, which makes it faster to move through the examples. I completed the book in two days but did not save any of my work, to give me a clean start if I need a refresher. The disadvantage of using the same data set is that you miss many opportunities to make mistakes, which can be the best way to learn how to avoid others in the future. Still, if you are just learning Pivot Tables this is an excellent book to get comfortable with them. It is great for a beginner, those who find excel intimidating, or just need to understand the basic principles.I avoided excel charts, pivots tables, and dashboards for as long as I could. But if you want your $$, gotta build the skills. This book did help with me ALOT. I also read the pivot chart, formulas, and v-lookup books by this author.
