I only occasionally play more graphically intensive games on my Macbook, but when I do, the bottom chassis can get very hot. I wanted to protect the longevity of my machine and get an external cooling pad to keep the internal temps down while I game. This pad does a good job of funneling the heat out from under my machine. We have another one of these pads in my house hooked up to a laptop that has been converted into a desktop, and it is similarly effective. The pad itself is very lightweight, but a bit fragile and unwieldy to carry around. As long as you're gentle with it, it should last. I kept the box it came in and use that to transport it places. The USB cable it comes with is quite short and a bit cheap feeling, but works fine if you're able to plug it into your machine. I've gotten a great amount of use out of this thing for how affordable it is.
