Perfect fit for 2018 Toyota C-HR XLE Premium
My niece works jobs that range all over the western half of the U.S., and needed more cargo space for her teeny car. Good value, I got it at a Special Price for Christmas; the ROSY PIXEL Roof Rack Cross Bars for the 2018-2022 Toyota C-HR instructions were not written, but had several pages of illustrations. We went over every step twice before beginning, so had an idea how to proceed before we started. The drawings of the pieces were clear and the parts count including bolts/screws/ washers for installation was correct, all included. For the C-HR, the bars ARE different lengths; the longer bar goes on front, front cabin being slightly wider than the back (driver needs elbow room 💪 to manipulate the car). The bars had stickers labeled as such. The "feet" of the bars are held down in an ingenious way on THAT car; open the door, inside the top of the doorframe are rubber plugs; there's a small peg on inner side of the foot that fit ⬆️ exactly into that doorframe hole after we popped the plug out; Bingo, perfect size, perfect placing for the roof bars, perfect anchor. The base of the REAR feet are angled↙️ at the outer bottom, since tops of the rear windows are angled more than the fronts. We held the lower edges of the feet against the little hole once placed, and started adjusting. We used the included tool to adjust the central attachments up the "ankle" of the foot ⬆️⬇️ so the inner rubber lip of the foot on top of the roof ju-u-st fit over the edge of the roof's rain gutter & held firmly, while making sure the crossbar would fit across the roof between the feet, then tightened the bolts "just tight enough" (NOT so tight that with a bit of effort you CAN'T undo them if you had to!). THEN we could snap on the outer plastic locking covers, lock them in place with 1 of the 2 hard plastic black barrel keys (they don't LOOK like a key; keep one on each keychain!) and close the doors. Those were the tricks to getting the base/feet to fit "solid as a rock" on that car. We did have to trim one end off the multi-fit rubber strips (held them up against top of the bars first to measure and made a tiny nick in one edge of the rubber as our "cutting mark"). After trimmed, starting at one rubber end level with the aluminum edge crossbar opening, the rubber strips just need to be FIRMLY pressed (until they meet metal) down into the channel, a little at a time all the way across- and you're done! It looks sleek and is very functional. The build quality was excellent, the parts all fit properly for THAT model car, the adjustments made for the feet and bars made it sturdy; I tried jiggling it at all connection points after installation- NOTHING moved! With three of us working, we were able to cross-check height/length/placement at each step before tightening down the bolts (but not TOO tight) at the end of each step. However, it's NOT meant to go thru a MECHANICAL, automatic car wash. Only a commercial HAND WASH or home HAND WASH. I did buy my niece separately a Merxeng 50"X38" steel cargo rack (unassembled for shipping) to go on top- perfect for that small car (has curved side bars she likes better than the square and boxy-looking racks). Took some time & a bit of muscle to assemble that. And a weatherproof squared bag (a Midabao 20 cubic ft, 39"X51.1") which included a padlock to hold the zippers shut in 70mph wind- to strap on in case she'd rather leave the rack home & just strap the bag on top- maybe to the crossbars, maybe down into the door opening (with a pad to protect the roof's paint). So she's all set now and has choices too!

One of the most difficult DIY installs
Let me first start by saying this thing was the most pain in butt DIY install I had ever done. The instructions were horrible next to non existent. The quality control was awful for what you pay. I bought this particular roof rack because it was cheaper than the Toyota factory roof rack. Some of the Toyota dealers were wanting $320 to $380 for a Toyota brand roof rack! Plus another $50 to $100 in shipping. Yeah you La Grange Toyota... Upon opening the box the first red flag was instruction papers litterally crumpled up into a ball. Like it was Monday and the factory employee was like, "man, **** this place." Upon opening the instructions, I noticed there were no words. Just pictures. After inspecting each picture you will notice that it doesn't exactly explain each step very well. At times it felt like a step wasn't printed. So you had to read in between the lines a lot. Once you begin to setup up the rack on your car expect to scratch the roof of your car somewhat just from the mounting hardware. Once I got the roof rack installed and bolted down, I noticed gaps in a lot of places. The left side coverings will fit more loosely compared to the right side. The rear bar had a raised metal section near the bracket. I am sure water will get inside the bar. I plan to use the roof rack to transport my 10ft paddle board when I move and to take the board to a few lakes. I guess I will replace the roof rack with a Toyota factory one, once this one begins to break down from the elements. Overall I can't reccomend this roof rack to anyone due to the confusing instructions and the poor quality control.

Spend the extra money
First off, the racks were not preassembled. Nowhere in the instructions does it show how to assemble. The instructions you do get are small and difficult to see. They did not send a PDF like stated in the description. Bolts were not long enough to reach the square washer to get the bolts to lock in, just a hair too short. I will be returning and spending the extra money on the brand name.
