No, they do not prevent the tube from pinching. These are a terrible product. They're extremely hard to keep in place on the rim while prying on the tires. The constantly pop off.

Will they work on 17” Ford F-150 rim

Yes. I use the when I change motorcycle and car tires. Never mare a rim.
