Some are simple things like there not being an answer bank but then in the 'answers section' at the end of the chapter it breaks down why is was 'A' and why it wasn't 'B,C, or D'. Other errors are much more serious. I'll give the example that finally pushed me to throwing the book away and ordering a new book from a different company.In Chapter 7 page 150 it discusses interest rates. It breaks down the formulas for simple and compound interest. It accurately provides the formula for how to solve both simple T= P(1+r)^t and compound T= P(1+r/n)^(t*n) interest. However, once you move to the 'Drills' problems 4&5 and 'Practice' problems 16&17 (all of which are compound interest problems). 4 and 16 only apply 'n' (where n=number of "compounding events" per year) in the exponent and fail to divide 'r' by the same number. However 5 and 17 then do apply the formula accurately.To confirm the error, I then went as far as to identifying the specific / consistent wording between 4&6 and 5&17 in order to identify how they justified their conclusion. In each instance it requires you to violate the known / given compound formula. The way the problems are worded creates a scenario where the 'n' that you divide 'r' by, is a completely separate 'n' from the one multiplied by 't' in the exponent.To elaborate further, Q4 states: "Maira made a single deposit of $100 to her bank account and made no withdrawals. If her bank pays 1.5 percent annual interest at 6-month intervals on both her deposit and any accumulated interest, what is the balance in the account 2.5 years later?" This means based on the formula the answer should be T= 100[1+ (.015/2)]^(2.5*2). However, the book concludes that the answer is T=100[1+.015]^(2.5*2).If someone reads this and can show me how / why I'm wrong, I very much welcome it.
