Review: Deployed on my linux box; vastly improved my network performance - I'm using this as a direct attached connection between my Linux box and my Ubiquiti core network switch. It's vastly improved the responsiveness of my network filesystem connections on my macs, and I'm quite happy with it. Zero problems connecting it; I'm on the latest AlmaLinux, and all it needed was configuration after boot. Going from a 1gig ethernet to this was like night and day.
Review: 2 Minutes -- Up and Running with Windows 11 - This is a very nice little card, that installed easily and was supported by Windows 11 by in-box drivers. My 10Gb fiber connects to a router that takes with a 2Gb Internet connection. I was able to max this connection out with ease (2.2Gb up and down). I've been using the card for almost a week, and so far perfectly stable. So... definitely recommended. But NOTE: If you want in-box Win11 driver support, you want the version of this card with the Broadcom BCM57810S Chipset.

**Q: What's the difference between the x540-t2 and x550-t2 ?**
A: The X520 and X540 have a PCIe 2.0 x8 interface, which has 32Gbit/s bandwidth.
The X550 has a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface, which has 32Gbit/s bandwidth.

The single-port versions may be used in slower slots: X520-T1/DA1 or X540-T1/DA1 will work in a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot (at 16Gbit/s); the manual says the T550-T1 should work in a PCI 2.0 x4 slot as well, although I haven’t tried it.

**Q: Has anyone actually gotten close to the 10gbps connection speed for this card?  pcie 2.0 has limit of 5 gt/s or about 4gpbs max.  so can it be 10gb?**
A: The card is PCIe 2 with x8 lanes, which is 4 GigaByte per second. 4 GigaByte is the same as 32 GigaBit, so it should handle 10 GigaBit just fine.

**Q: Will this card negotiate down to a pcie gen 3 x2?  i think my only free x4 slot only runs in x2 mode which is why i'm asking.**
A: No, please kindly note that the X550-T1 supports PCIe v3.0 (8.0GT/s) (Compatible with 2.0 and 1.1) X4/X8/X16 Lane, and it does not support X2.

**Q: does this work with windows 11?**
A: I have not gotten it to work with windows 11. The seller says to install drivers 26.7 but those dont work

I'm using this as a direct attached connection between my Linux box and my Ubiquiti core network switch. It's vastly improved the responsiveness of my network filesystem connections on my macs, and I'm quite happy with it. This is a very nice little card, that installed easily and was supported by Windows 11 by in-box drivers. My 10Gb fiber connects to a router that takes with a 2Gb Internet connection. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Who knew 10GB could be so cheap!?

I bought a couple of 10GB SFP+ PCI-E X8 network cards, a STEAMEMO SFP switch, one DAC cable and one active optical fiber cable. No need for separate transceivers. For $190 total I am flying at 10Gb. I transferred an entire 5GB ISO file between NVME drives in two different computers in under 6 seconds. Awesome! And the STEAMEMO switch gives me 4 2.5Gb ports for the rest of the network.
