They are an excessively tight fit. In fact, when you hammer a tile into place with a rubber mallet, the fit is so tight against the adjacent tile that friction causes the very edges of the tile's tabs to distort and become slightly raised relative to the opposing tabs, thus creating a ridge you can feel with your fingertips and catch with your fingernail. This makes for a rough sliding surface at the junctions between tiles that is not present with one-piece systems. And there are a lot of junctions. Pucks, even green biscuits, don't slide as freely as they should.I understand the need for a tight fit between tiles in order to avoid having gaps develop between the tiles, but they made the fit too tight, and needlessly so. Obviously, this is not a skating surface. Furthermore, most people using these dry land puck handling surfaces either stand relatively stationary on them, or don't stand on them at all. Thus, the need for such a tight fit and strong connection between the tiles is unnecessary to begin with. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Really awesome *by A***A on Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2015* These training tiles are probably the best ones on the market today.You can customize the size of them and they are easy to move and put back together. Also what is cool is that you can add other hockey products to it. Edges where tiles meet are impossible to get smooth so no ice like surface. Some tiles buckle when fit together and do not lay flat.
