**Q: will this work to keep water from coming up the drain in the basement when city systems can't handle it?**
A: Yes, I tested the silicone seal using a PVC tube and the Green Drain was able to hold back water up to 2.5' until it gave way to the water pressure. Without the center plug, a small amount of water drips through, but if a basement was flooding under 2.5' this would hold back the vast majority of water, preventing a lot of unnecessary water damage.

**Q: Can this be installed in clay tile?**
A: If you are referring to a clay tile pipe then yes as long a it is a tigjt fit as clay has a tendency to wear faster vs steel and could be slightly bigger than 4”.

**Q: If it's just pushed in, how does it keep its position, could it just fall straight down a 2" straight pipe and get stuck?**
A: Usually the 2 inch pipe is only a short pipe leading into a smaller pipe or a bend. If your drain is a straight 2 inch pipe the whole way down then this would not work for you. This drain is designed for showers or drains that should have a P Trap but don't.

A: it fits in a standard sched. 40 2" PVC pipe. so slightly over 2"
