Dorman 76985 Sliding Window Latch Compatible with Select Chevrolet / GMC Models

Works great, although a bit expensive for something that’s clearly not meant to endure the years. It probably costs them 10 cents to make this. Maybe someone should 3D print these with a sturdier material that will allow the latch to continuously bend assiduously.

It is an annoying little bit of plastic that keeps people from getting into your truck. Takes less than 5 minutes to instal but, can be busted off easily if you are not paying attention. It's a shame no one has made a replacement of better quality after all these years.

First off its too thin compared to stock 1976 Chev squarebody PU sliding window plastic latch. Doesnt come with shorter screws. Stock screws bottom out on back window metal frame. I made some tiny spacers to correct the fit and installed. Most important to know is it also seems just barely too short in length. Cheaply made latch broke first time I tried to latch it. Total waste of my money and time !! Would never buy again. Hope if you purchase you have better luck than I did.

Being plastic sort of feels cheap it's a little hard at first to get it to bend where you have bend itto work but if you need a latch because if you open & close your back window a lot you will need to replace it sooner or later it works & the price is pretty reasonable

installed on a regular cab 1988 GMC 1500. Works great very tight fit. Those who had problems with this item I would agues is because they didn't pay attention to the shape of the small side of the latch and how it fits into the larger side.

Ordered hoping it would work, but unfortunately it doesn’t fit the sliding window of my 1986 C10

This is the third latch I have replaced on this truck, they average about 10 years a piece. I have a single cab. Easy install but I'd recommend a magnetic screwdriver as the screws are tiny and very easy to drop/lose. Once I replaced mine it stopped a rattle in my rear window as well. Would buy again.
