I bought this to replace my Elevation Mask 1 that I've had for over 5 years and it still works great. My reason for replacement is that I decided to give it to a young student at the boxing gym that I train at who showed a lot of potential and discipline to compliment their dedicated efforts. Anyways performance wise this works great but for a person like me that came from using the first mask: 1 - I would have preferred the rubber material which in my opinion would make it long lasting and a better repellent to sweat, this one soaks up the sweat. So be prepared for that. 2 - The hook loop closure used for securing is inferior to the buckle type they had on the first mask. 3 - The ear holes don't work like the should. They have to be folded on the upper side to prevent them from pressing down my ear flap. My ears are close to the side of my head. 4 - The dial is a much loved improvement offering quick adjustment on the fly (just not in motion though) 5 - The area around the nose and mouth ensures air enters and leave only at the mouthpiece ventilation. Compared to the first mask which sometimes escapes at the sides my eyes. 6 - There's no full face covering, so no temporary frosting of eye glass. With all the cons though it's a good upgrade once you get past it's shortcomings. I use mine during Pad work, bag work, shadow boxing and running.
