For Christmas, I bought this glove and ball for my 5 year old grandson, along with the wiffle bat and balls. Wiffle Bat,Wiffle 9 inch Baseballs in Counter-top Display - One Dozen.He seemed to be very happy with these....I also have written a review about getting his younger brother the Tee-ball set Little Tikes TotSports T-Ball Set.This child who is currently into dinosaurs was more involved with and interested in the dinosaurs he and his younger brother got Schleich Brachiosaurs 14503,Schleich Brachiosaurs 14503and others...(highly recommended also.) However, he wanted to go outside also and play "baseball" with his dad and brothers in between looking at the other gifts, especially the dinosaurs...I think he'll get a lot of use out of this set. I had purchased a set of a dozen wiffle balls and recently heard his dad already had to buy more...I don't know how long any of these plastic baseball/teeball sets will last, but they were relatively inexpensive, and the kids love to go to the local park and play with these with their dad.As to whether or not this toy is "educational"...I don't think each and every toy has to be. In this case, being outside and playing, using his muscles and developing eye/hand coordination, playing with his dad and brother....you cannot put a price tag on that in my opinion!

Bought this for my 3 year old nephew, and it was such a cute and fun set! My 20 month son, ended up really enjoying it, showing it’s great for young toddlers. I was surprised how well the ball stuck to the mitt! It really makes it easy for anyone to catch, the ball sticks instantly once it hits the glove. The toddlers who played with our mitt and glove, were more into the throwing of the ball, but made it such a fun and easy thing to play with. Can be played with indoor or outdoor! Fun purchase for littles!

What a fun little toy for a little boy/girl. I bought this ball and mitt toy for my 2.5 year old son to work on hand-eye coordination, as well as an addition to his toy collection, since he's been asking about Baseball a lot. When we opened it, he was so excited! The color and fit was wonderful for a toddler, and it still has plenty of room for him to grow into. It's flexible, and comfortable for him to wear, and the ball is nice and soft, so that you may play indoors if you so wish, and not have to worry about breaking anything fragile in the home. The only reason this product didn't get a 5-star rating from me, was because I found that the ball didn't stick to the velcro as well as I'd like it to. If thrown and not squeezed in the mitt when caught, sometimes, the ball wont stick, and will fall right out of the mitt. The more we used it, the stickier it got, so if at first you don't suceed, try and try and try and try again! It will eventually get roughed up enough to become sticky enough for a toddler to be able to catch the ball without much effort!

My 2.5 year old loves this. I put my baseball glove on, and she thinks it's cool that she has one as well. Bonus for being Chicago Cubs colors. My only complaint is that the glove could use a little more velcro -- or maybe just a huge circular patch of velco as opposed to little strips. Sometimes you hit the mit dead center and it doesn't stick. But she loves picking the ball up and tossing it back just the same.

Gave this review 3-stars manly because my toddler loved playing with this glove and it was a fun introduction to baseball. The combination of the Velcro ball and the fully Velcro mitt helps kids feel a sense of achievement and inclusion in playing catch. The issue I have experienced is that after a couple minutes of play, the stitching in the ball began to tear, exposing the cotton inside with every completed catch. This is even more concerning considering that the ball began to fall apart after only a handful of catches. I understand you get what you pay for but I wish this would have lasted longer than one short session of play.

what a great beginner baseball glove. My 2 year old is a baseball junkie. He's been playing is TBall set since he was about 17 months and can hit really well. He also demands to watch the baseball games on TV! (go Giants!) Now I thought is the time to introduce him to the gloves so he can master catching... I had no clue the glove and ball have Velcro tapes so it really is a thrill for my son to be able to "catch" the ball that easily! HA! lol gloves are super soft. He doesn't exactly put it all the way in after all he doesn't have a big wide hand to fit into it so it's barely in but it holds up quite well... perfect for young toddlers for sure.

I'm an adult female with average size hands, and my whole hand fits snuggly inside the glove. So, I don't think this glove is only for toddlers as some other reviews suggest. I don't see my 4 1/2 year old son fitting into this in another year or so, but it's perfect for him right now. I would say that it works for ages 2-5 depending on motor skills.The glove is flexible and the velcro hold well, which makes it easier to catch the ball. This has gotten my son more interested in the game and improved his catching skills as he gets more practice.

Our two year old son got this for Christmas and it is his favorite thing! More than all the trucks and rocking horse. This thing really works and it does build confidence. My son always wants to play catch but he closes his eyes when we toss the ball to him. With this he can catch the ball!! Even with his eyes closed!! Well as long as mom or dad can get any part of the ball to touch the mitt. I’m so happy I bought this. Last night (my son talks in his sleep) he heard his little voice say “play baseball” while he was sleeping. Which means he is thinking about it. I would buy this again and again.

My toddler has been showing interest in playing catch so we got this for him. The glove is big for him, but it works as stated!Highly recommend
