I’m not a pro & don’t use this for pipe cutting. What I’m using it for is cutting my family’s hundreds of cheap plastic clothes hangers into 3 pieces each for recycling (both the thin plastic kind & the felt-covered plastic composite kind). I’m replacing them with sturdier, more attractive hangers. I tried to use already owned, but inappropriate, tools to cut the hangers (Knipex 74200 & Klein D2328 wire cutters, & HK Porter 2000 bolt cutter, none of which are intended for plastic cutting), & it was too much trouble to use a saw. So I found out what I already knew: they couldn’t do the job without exerting lots of force & twisting. So I bought this Ridgid plastic cutter & it works great, with little effort. Many of the other plastics cutters I researched were not able to cut as small a diameter as needed for my job, but this one cuts down to 1/8” diameter, so it works where others wouldn’t. A solid, well-made aluminum tool with a very nice textured finish & positive ratchet action.

Awesome pipe cutter!! For ABS or PVC no issues what so ever. It's sturdy, well built,cuts like butter and makes straight cuts,a must have in your toolbox!! 💯👌🏽

This tool is so slick for cutting plastic lines. Just finished Wirsbo-Pex applications and every cut was easy and very perpendicular. Even with water lines side by side, you are able to fit the tool nose in and easily cut the separate line square. The ratchet action makes absolutely no effort on your hand and fully releases on it's own once you simply pull back on the lever handle. Very HD construction and a great tool. Purchased based on ratings and Ridgid again has not let me down. Highly recommend this product for all cutting of plastic tubing.
