Used this to repair a crack up a wall where someone had joined a solid wall to a plasterboard addition. I used tape over the crack, then this plaster as a base coat, let it dry then a finishing coat. I am no plasterer, but, this really was easy to use. I found that making it into a very smooth paste and spraying lightly the area to cover with water prior to putting it in the gap made it easier to shape. I found using a base coat, letting that dry, then a finishing coat made it easier to blend it to the existing plaster work. If you are careful and get it on the wall and don't fiddle with it the product does what it says.
