Why isn't my cake steamer heating up? I just bought it over the weekend and I have been following all procedures but no results. I need help please!

Must be burnt out. This was the worst steamer I ever bought. When it does heat up. Half the water spits out ruining what your working on. Return it is my advise

Is there a difference between a cake steamer and a fabric steamer?? If so what?

No not really , but I don’t like this one it spits big globs of water out and has ruined quit a few of my fondant cakes by soaking them.
