The TYPE1 has an accuracy of .1 deg. while the TYPE2 has an accuracy of .2 deg. Although someone said the TYPE1 is discontinued, it still appears on the Wixey website as being available. If anyone tells you the only difference is battery and backlight, they haven't read the specs from the manufacturer. **Q: Does it support absolute level?** A: The WR300 does not but the Wixey WR365 does. The WR365 combines two functions, differential angle and level. Level in the WR365 is derived using what they TM as Dead Level Technology. The Level measurement is referenced to earth level (like a bubble level) but in this case calibrated at the factory and permanently stored in the gauge. **Q: Will this work to measure pinion angle on a Jeep jk axle?** A: Sure. I have no difficulty reading the display when using it in my shop. Magnet is of sufficient strength to hold the unit in place.
