This sand table is a fantastic addition to our backyard! The Step2 Naturally Playful Sand Table is the perfect height for toddlers and young kids to stand and play comfortably. Arrived a day before expected, sturdy material, no tools required to assemble and took me 90 seconds to do. I put about 20-25 pounds of sand in and he loves it!

Looks nice and durable

I ordered this for my toddler. The first one arrived and the legs were so hard to get in. Actually, I couldn’t get any of them to fully snap in (and be flush against the red on top) so I looked online and saw others had the issue too. Those people resolved it with forced pressure, dish soap and/ or sanding the excess plastic down. None of those options worked for me so I did a return/ replacement. The second one arrived today and I BARELY used any force to push the legs in and they clicked. While that was frustrating to deal with, my kiddo loves it and typically step 2 items have a decent longevity when cared for properly so 5 stars for now. I can’t comment on if the lid does keep things out. That’s the hope. But we also plan to buy a plastic cover as well. One final thought- we bought a $5 bag of play sand at Home Depot that says .4 cu ft (40 lbs) and it could probably use a second bag but maybe not the whole second bag because it would possibly be right near the top? Didn’t try though. I guess depends on your kid(s). Mine is just learning to play in sand so while we work on keeping it in the table and not putting dirt and stuff in it, we will start with just one because we’ll inevitably be replacing sooner than later.

Update: We have now had our sand box a few months and even with the handles on correctly during a hard rain recently the sand was soaked. I noticed a bunch of water droplets on the top of the lid on the bottom side so I'm wondering if it's leaking through the plastic or maybe A LOT of condensation? The bottom is also bowed WAY down like a bowl. I used 25lbs of white play sand which should not have been too heavy. My kids still love it. Previous comment: Our sandbox has been left in the rain during several thunder and rain storms and has not leaked a single bit. However, if you do not put the handles in the correct spot there will be two holes exposed on each side allowing water to get in. Look closely at the handle on the inside of the lid. There is a piece of black plastic that covers both holes. When you put the lid on make sure that piece of plastic is between the sand box and the lid. This will seal off the holes. I did not give it five stars because the lid is starting to kinda cavein in the middle and the middle of the sand box is sloped downward under the weight. Neither of these issues appear to effect the quality. My children love playing with it. It holds 40lbs of sand and the dimensions are: 16.38 H 26.00 W 36.00 D. It's pretty Shallow. We bought white play sand that is silica free and less likely to scratch little eyes. Because shipping is $1 per pound we looked at the store locator on the sandtastik site.

This is a great option if your kiddo likes to play with sand but you dont want them to get all sandy each time they do. This makes it less likely they will get fully in the sand and only their hands will be sandy afterwards. Get a play sand bag from lowes or home depot to fill it and get an extra to replenish as it spills on the ground. Great value, the cover is easy on and easy off. Such a good design and size.

This is an amazing item. My daughter and her friends absolutely love it. It keeps them busy and their creative juices flowing. Also significantly cuts down on screen time. Love it!

This is the second time we purchased this sensory table. My grandchildren LOVE it! We have one at their house and one at mine. It can hold sand, water, anything. Very easy assembly. Snap on 4 legs - done!

Our 2 year old granddaughter loves to play standing at her sandbox. Sitting IN a sandbox is not something she likes. Too 'doody' (dirty). I would say it's for up to 6 years old. At this age they can sit on a low seat at the sandbox. My granddaughter loves to dig the sand and fill buckets, cups, sifters and vehicles. She pretends to make cakes etc.. Sandplay is very tactile and give a child the experience of using their imagination and being able to control what they are doing and to develop dexterity.

Le couvercle n'est pas très solide et il pleut dans le bac à sable. A part cela, ce bac à sable est bien adapté pour des enfants de 2 ou 3 ans.

I don't write reviews on Amazon as a habit but this is a brilliant product. I bought it for my 15-month-old daughter and she absolutely loves it. She never gets bored with 'saaaaand' and will play for hours in the garden if I let her. I like it because: 1) it's hardwearing. ok yes it's made of plastic and doesn't look as trendy as some other sandboxes with special wood cladding but it won't rot or discolor or fall apart because the screws got loose. kids don't care about trendy anyway. 2) it's the right size -- not to big, not too small, it can be moved around easily. 2-3 children can play at it easily 3) it's very practical -- it's sturdy, and was easy to put together. it has a cover. 4) it came with free stuff -- a bucket, spades and 2 'claws' -- more than enough sand toys to keep a toddler entertained I could see that maybe with older children, they might have to stoop to play but I solved this problem by buying a small folding chair. My daughter isn't too tall for it yet, but thought I'd go ahead and get one. She loves sitting in her chair and building castles. Buy it.
