Is this product supposed to come with a safety seal? Just wondering as mine arrived in the mail unsealed.

Mine did not come with safety seal. I've been using Uncle Harry's tooth powder for years and it's always delivered without safety seal.

Does this help with gum pockets?

Technically, no. It is a powder. However, it works better than any toothpaste I've ever tried. My dental checkups are better than ever, and there is a noticeable improvement in my dentin (the tough, shiny surface of the tooth) as well as greater whiteness. Toothpaste is... pasty. It has liquid added to make it work within a tube. With this, you put a small dash of powder in the palm of your hand, put your moistened toothbrush in it, and brush.

It seems more cost effective to buy the larger bottle to refill the jar. But I am the only one using it. Is there an expiration date for this?

With 2 people using the larger bottle, twice a day, it lasted over a year. According to the bottom of the bottle, it will last just over 3 years past the manufacturing date.
