Retro-Bit Prism HDMI Adapter for Gamecube (Electronic Games)

This is a fantastic adapter that is well worth the money to get GameCube games displayed on a HDMI TV or monitor easily. The picture from the monitor is clear, and there are a range of options that can be set using the remote provided in order to adjust the picture to your liking. The only thing that I dislike about the adapter is the size - as it sticks out a fair bit from the GameCube. But I think it's still worth every penny in order to get a clear picture.

Just received mine today and instantly upon testing, the image quality was better than I was expecting. After trying the KAICO HDMI adapter which its colours was overly bright and image quality was cr@p. I decided to buy this and the image quality is great. When used with Swiss it can force better resolutions, though I need to look into these modes because I tested Resident Evil and Items were out of place, for example an ink ribbon on the dining room table would be floating in mid air, the chest above the dining room fire place was also out of place, so I think this is a resolution issue not rendering properly because Resident Evil (and 0, 2, 3) relied on pre rendered backgrounds. The only thing I would recommend possibly in and update it better AA to help smoothen edges rather than being jagged, its OK having better resolution, but the edges are all jagged. I would also think in an update to make the OSD a lot smaller and have the option to set it at top left/right, bottom left/right of the screen so you can visually see the differences, but when you have the OSD massive and slap centre in your screen, you cant see the differences properly (or even make the OSD 100% transparent). But if you are lucky to have this GC model, this device is definitely worth buying.

Works great with my GameCube and it's made it super easy to integrate it into my setup. Pros: Lots of options for sound, colour and video modes. Plug and play and ease and easy to update with the USB-C port. The flexibility of HDMI makes it easy to capture gameplay footage and conversion to other formats Cons: The de-interlacing algorithm used adds flicker and blur, which can be uncomfortable to look at. Build quality is okay but nothing to be amazed by. Overall I would recommend this adapter to anyone who is looking for a no-nonsense video solution to hook up a Gamecube to a modern display.

Absolutely fantastic bit of kit for retro gaming I previously brought a hdmi adapter from for the composite (WARNING!) DO NOT BUY THEM! they are rubbish. I wished I looked up more info before otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered. But this retro prism adapter is brilliant if you can’t afford for the eon mk1 or 2 then this is ideal for the Nintendo GameCube. Another (WARNING) make sure your GameCube has the right port on the rear if there’s only one port on the back of your GameCube only for composite then you’ll need another way around for better quality for composite. Check YouTube and study it like I said before I wished I did. Brilliant product would highly recommend.

Running the same GC Video software as the EON and Carby adapters, the Prism HD is an essential purchase for any retro gaming fan to get the best video quality out of their GameCube. Whilst this does support a maximum resolution of 480p, PAL systems will need to use homebrew software, such as Swiss, in order to force the 480p resolution as PAL games do not natively support 480p. As mention in this products description, you must ensure that your GameCube is model DOL-001, as the Prism HD can only connect to the Digital AV port on the console. The build quality is good, features are great and the image quality (especially using Swiss to force 480p) is fantastic. Best of all, future firmware updates will be easy to do thanks to the USB-C port on the side of the unit, ensuring that the adapter can always be kept up-to-date. Cannot recommend highly enough. Totally worth the money.

La mejora en el vídeo es significativa y se aprecia a primera vista, ahora bien, tendrás que trastear un rato en las opciones para optimizar bien la imagen. I have a PAL GameCube (I'm from the Netherlands) and after a lot of review-videos on Youtube I decide to go for it and I should've done this a lot earlier!! My games never looked better! I have a 32 inch LG LK6100 TV and the colors really pop on my screen, I have attached a photo of that too. It's important to note that PAL region consoles and games have interlacing. (480i, 576i) and the Prism HD has a line doubler that adds de-interlacing. personally I have turned that option off during the setup of the Prism because it made fonts overal jittery and a bit shaking. turning the line doubler off eliminates that ''issue'' many people won't even notice it unless they're close up to the screen but since my gaming room is really small, I noticed it straight away. after the whole setup of turning off line doubler in every mode I made sure to save the settings. I didn't even alter the colors or vibrancy. it really looks great out of the box! I recommend this to everyone that wants to make the Gamecube look better on a modern screen! if there are some downsides to this product it must be the lack of an HDMI cable but you can pick one up for really cheap here on amazon. I used the Twozoh HDMI slimline cables and they work perfectly! And also, the adapter clicks in the Digital AV port of the Gamecube, while it isn't really necessary I would have prefered that it would come with a small support bracket just like the Bitfunx includes. I have found a model of it online and a friend 3D printed it out for me so it's all good now. not really bad downpoints but I had to mention it.

El adaptador es increíble, manda una señal digital limpia directa vía HDMI. Los juegos se ven limpios y luce el talento de muchos juegos. (No se van a ver REMASTERIZADOS, pero sí los juegos se ven super limpios). Los juegos de Gamecube lucen en su mejor presentación y viene con robustas opciones para aquellos que buscan sacar la mejor calidad de video de la consola (usas el control incluido para ello). Con un GameBoy Player, los juegos también pasan a la pantalla grande y se ven increíbles. No he usado Swiss y su interfaz de Gameboy, o un upscaler, pero el disco de arranque de Gameboy Player hace que los juegos resalten mucho y en 480p se ve muy muy bien. Una de las cosas que me gustaría remarcar es que, mientras la señal de video es increíble, el audio es de 5 estrellas. Audio digital limpio y que puede ponerse en Stereo o Surround Dolby. Todos los juegos suenan fantásticos. Los fans del GameBoy amarán este adaptador en su Gamecube. He estado usando audífonos para jugar varios juegos y estoy realmente contento con él. Si deseas hacer tu Gamecube definitivo, esto es una compra necesaria (y la verdad, es el más económico de todos en el mercado).
