I grounded mine when I installed it outdoors. You do need to ground it. **Q: The description says 'supports passive poe to power the switch', does that mean actual passive poe, or does it support 802.3at/af standard to power it** A: I'm using 48v 60 watt POE inserter, to run switch and 4 POE camera. Used it to add cameras to location where I couldn't run more cables. **Q: Saw the anser on support for 802.1q tagged/vlan. just trying to clarify, is this smart managed or it just passes all vlan on the line?** A: It’s definitely not a smart managed switch. Just passive auto-negotiated switch ## Frequently Bought Together - Outdoor 5 Port PoE Switch/Extender/Booster, 60W 48V 10/100/1000M POE Passthrough Switch Outdoor Ethernet Extender，PoE Repeater,6KV Lightning Protection, IEEE 802.3af/at/bt, by CENTROPOWER - Cudy POE300 60W Gigabit Ultra PoE+ Injector, Up to 60W Ultra Power Supply, 10/100/1000Mbps Shielded RJ-45, IEEE 802.3af/802.3at Compliant, Not Support 802.3 bt/ PoE++/ Passive PoE, Metal housing - Gigabit 2 Port PoE Extender Outdoor, 6KV Lightning Protection PoE Passthrough Switch, Ethernet Splitter Booster, 60W 48V Comply with IEEE 802.3af/at --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.dk/products/280670490-outdoor-5-port-poe-switch-extender-booster](https://www.desertcart.dk/products/280670490-outdoor-5-port-poe-switch-extender-booster) --- *Product available on Desertcart Denmark* *Store origin: DK* *Last updated: 2026-11-07*
