I order a lot of things online, including most of my groceries, so I have a LOT of boxes to break up to be recycled. I used to try using scissors and then ripping them apart, it was a lot of work! This has made things so much easier! I will say that the buttons you have to push down to release the blade are pretty stiff in the beginning. I'm glad someone else mentioned this in their review. I thought I was doing something wrong. I kept re-reading the simple instructions, but the blade wouldn't budge. And then I read someone else had posted that they are stiff in the beginning and you have to keep pushing on them to loosen them up. That's what happened. I put it down for awhile and every now and then I'd go back and try again, and eventually the buttons went down when I pushed on them and I was able to tug on the blade. That was the only issue I had, and it wasn't a big deal. After that, I was able to use the blade to cut up quite a few boxes I had stacked up. It will definitely make my life easier.
