No problems at all. The Pi's are used in radio applications which use 18.8V power. More convenient to power off the 13.8v power rails. I also use it to power a Pi3B+ used in Octoprint for my Ender 3 printer. 24v power taken from the Ender 3 power supply through the buck to power the Pi. **Q: Do you have a suggested way to mount these usb boards? Is there an adapter housing?** A: I used Hammond 1551USB2BK housing and mounted using epoxy. **Q: Does this have low voltage protection that automatically shuts off when voltage drops below 12 volts? If so, can you turn it off?** A: The input range is 6-32V. I operate mine at 6-8V typically. You don’t have to do anything special for this. **Q: do they auto cut off when battery is charged?** A: No. As long as there is power to the converter it will supply power at the USB port.
