To get the camera lower than 22" you need to pivot the horizontal arm down and then swivel the camera back to horizontal. This works but means you have to extend the arms which introduces instability. I wanted to use it for close ups and I can but it takes more fiddling than I thought it would. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fixed Position Rig, Highly Adjustable *by S***S on August 19, 2022* Extremely pleased with this rig, I've been seeking a solution for a top-down camera arm so that I can share drawings, plans and markups on Zoom/Teams calls for architectural projects. This is perfect. The rig comes partly assembled, with the bracket, vertical post, and horizontal arm. The three components are well protected in a block of closed-cell grey foam. I'm calling it "partly assembled", because there is no bag of parts, nuts, bolts, and hex wrenches. Just the three main components, and you assemble them by loosening and tightening knobs and handles. No tools required. The base bracket is super heavy, with a textured matte black finish. Clamp can open to several inches thickness, and wants to grab 2"-3" of table edge. Very comparable to a large dual-monitor bracket. Vertical post extends from 22" up to 36" above desk surface. Horizontal arm extends from 13" to 20" from the post - measured to the mounting plate. The elbow can be positioned at an angle, up or down, adding additional vertical reach (at the expense of horizontal reach). General fabrication, fit, and finish of all the parts is really good. At this price point you're definitely getting your money's worth. This could also replace a microphone stand, as long as you were going to leave it in a fixed position. Anything that can mount to a standard mounting block. You wouldn't want to mount something much heavier than a camera, as the main hinge locking mechanism has plastic ridges which might strip off if you overloaded the arm. Really pleased with this specialty product, because of it's high quality and adjustability.
