This stuff is totally awesome, I am hooked
During the summer my face, arms and neck get just enough sun to give me that look healthy look. A few months ago I had someone tell me that I looked very pale. I know its just my winter color but it bothered me enough that I started researching spray on tans. I was reading reviews on the different places I could go and get a spray tan and came across a review comparing this Tropez to a spray on tan. The review was very much in favor of Tropez. I ordered a bottle and gave it a try. I was so nervous the first few times. I didn't want it to look like I used a tanning lotion and wanted it very gradual. I also worried what it might look like after it started wearing off. I watched youtube videos on how to apply tanning lotion. Anyway it turns out this product is pretty much fail proof. I apply it on my face and neck and a little on my arms, rub it in very well either in the evening or morning, doesn't seem to matter. I have never had one dark streak. After first application I have a tiny bit of color. After second day a light tan. Someone asked me if I had been to a tanning bed, since it was winter. It fades away gradually in a few days and has never left splotches or any bad signs. If I have something special like a family get together etc I will just use it the two days before the event. This stuff is awesome and very easy to experiment around with until you figure out how much of a healthy tan you want. I can't wait for summer so I can try it 3 or 4 days in a row without people wondering how I am getting sunshine when there isn't any. I have used it 2 days in a row and then 3 or 4 days without. Then used it once then a few days without. You don't have to follow a regime, just here and there when you want a little color, then go without it for as long as you like until you just wake up and feel like getting a little fake sunshine. I am still on the first bottle but I haven't been applying to my whole body. Just the parts that show. This summer I will try it on other parts. This stuff is perfect and I have already ordered another bottle as a back up for when this one runs out.....There is no orange look like the old fake tanning lotions or splotchy skin. Looks like sunshine on your skin. Perfect if all you want is a little color on your face. This stuff is magic.....

Real Deal
I am seriously pale. I burn thinking about going out in the sun. And even when I do go out in the sun, all I do is burn usually. Except on my lower legs. For some reason, I can not get any kind of color on my legs, not even a burn if I tried. Anyways, I have always been self-conscious of my legs the older I get, as now the veins are showing more etc. And let's face it - everyone looks better with a little glow. I've had skin cancer, so I'm not a supporter of real tanning sun, so I stick to the fake tanners. I'm pretty sure that I've tried them all. I've broke out from hives from one, turned an oompa loompa orange multiple times, and have spent way, way too much money I care to remember on trying to get my ghost like complexion to look semi-attractive. Anyways, after all the trial and error, I stick to gradual tanners - it's easier for me, kind of fool proof application, and if it looks too orange, I'll know early on, and can stop it if I don't like it. That being said, St. Tropez has been my saviour. My husband actually told me that he no longer feels that I could live in the dark depths of the ocean and survive anymore. I did the exfoliating routine, put it on, and didn't notice much on the first application. However, I did notice that I did not stink like the sunless tanner. Look, I don't find the St. Tropez scent particularly appealing but it is 500% better than smelling like the old tanning lotion. I take a shower before I go to sleep, and use this tanning lotion just like I would use any other lotion. BUT, after regular use - about 3 days, it looks really nice! I'm not dark - that would look pretty stupid considering how pale I am. But, I do look sun-kissed, and feel like I look really good and am not going to blind someone when I step out in the sun. I use it almost every night...just because I really like the color it gives - looks really natural. Some say it's expensive - and I agree. But it works and smells a million times better than Jergans or any of the drugstore brands, so I will pay for it.

The Best, but Still Flawed
This self-tanner is the best I have ever tried--it produces a nice, golden tan rather than an orange glow. But it's still not perfect. It's strongly perfumed to disguise the tanning ingredient, so if you're sensitive to smells--probably not the best. It the most streakless product I've seen but yes, it still leaves darker patches on your ankles, feet, knees, elbows . . . despite my adherance to the application and exfoliation instructions on the brand's website. It took about 4 daily applications to build a desirable tan but at that point, the color had become patchy so I let it wear off which took a whole week of daily exfoliation. I don't recommend bothering with any self-tanner until the industry makes huge advancements to improve upon the flaws inherent in these products (e.g. streaks, smell, etc.).

Best sunless tanner!
I want to preface this review by saying that I NEVER write reviews; however, this product definitely deserves one. I have very pale skin and dark hair follicles. A couple weeks ago I visited my dermatologist because I wanted a solution to my "dark hair follicle" problem. I had a wedding coming up and I was too embarrassed to wear a dress because I looked like a plucked chicken. When I'm tan, my hair follicles are barely noticeable. I didn't want to resort to fake-baking because I like to take care of my skin. I also have very sensitive skin and have developed a rash with every sunless tanner I have tried in the past. My dermatologist told me to try St. Tropez sunless tanners because many of her clients have had positive experiences with their products. I was worried about breaking out but I decided to give it a try anyway. This product is amazing! I didn't break out, the lotion smells great and I have a very natural looking tan. I would recommend exfoliating and moisturizing consistently for 2-3 days before applying the tanner. Also, the Light Medium is obviously meant for very, very pale skinned people. It worked perfectly for me but if you have any color at all (even a little glow) I would probably go with the darker lotion.

Not as good as I hoped for
Bought this thinking it would be better than most. The color is decent, the smell is a little strong and made my face break out so I don't Reccomend using it on your face. I probably would not purchase again due to the strong smell of fragrance added to the lotion to drown out tell tale fake tan smell. I would give it 5 stars if the smell wasn't so overpowering, I felt like it smelled stronger than my perfume which is usually pretty strong. I have fair skin and I have a hard time finding self tanners that don't look orange on me, this had a natural look to it my boyfriend thought I all of a sudden had a nice real tan!

Awesome self tanner.
I'm new to the self tanners but have gotten this brand in the mousse for my daughter who loves it so decided to try the lotion which I now love. I'm older and just wanted a little color in the old legs and arms and this is just right. I've had absolutely no streaking, mild smell but nice and not lasting long. Initially I applied with just my hands and washed after and had no issues but decided to get the mitt and it seems to go on better with that I think. I stay away from putting any on the elbows and knees. It does not come off on my clothes or sheets.....as long as you follow directions and wait before doing those things. It will come off lightly sometimes on your towel after a shower I did find. But now I know not to use my white towels in the summer! It's very moisturizing. I do wish it was made spf, not sure why it's not.

St Tropez Self-Tanner
The first time I ordered this product, it got lost in shipping and never arrived. Thought I would give it a second try. This time, the wrong product was shipped - I received the 1.6 oz self-tanner for FACES, not the 6.7 oz tanner for overall body. Now I gotta figure out how to return it for minimal effort and cost. Disappointing. Guess I go back to the dept store on this one.

The best self tanner!
I read a ton of reviews before settling on this product. I was kind of weary of trying out self-tanners because I've had my share of bad experiences with them in the past. Not the case with St. Tropez. I'm so glad I purchased this. A little goes along way and even though its a gradual tanning lotion, I can tell a difference with just one application. It never looks orange! I used this for my legs to just give some color. When applying be mindful not to apply too much to places like ankles, knees, toes, wrists, elbows, etc. That said, its very easy to apply and always looks even. A lot of self tanners have this weird strong tanning smell that I can't stand. St. Tropez actually smells pretty good even after it settles into the skin. Very happy with this product!
