I never thought about testing it for safety until now. It is pretty rusted. So, I bought the Hti Microwave Leakage Detector.It is sold with "battery included". First problem is that there was no battery. I guess someone took it as the box it came in had obviously been opened. Oh, well, I put in a battery.Second problem is that 'directions' are inadequate. For example, below what number is safe? So, I went online and found helpful instructions.My leakage appears to be safe. Really, after 34 years with tons of rust? I am NOT convinced. I think I wasted my money.A couple of weeks after my original review, I used the detector to test a neighbor's microwave. The detector lit up like a Christmas tree!
