EVGA's First Laptop Puts a Nail in all the Competition
Honestly the best laptop I've ever used. The build quality is superb and its gaming potential is fantastic. Can play just about everything Max settings 1080p 60 fps. It weighs quite a bit. The single downside I can think of is it only has 2 USB ports. I bought a very small USB 3.0 hub by Inateck, used some double sided tape and attached it to the lid for 4 extra USB ports. Other than this laptop is great. The overclocking is very awesome and it doesn't get much hotter from stock clocks. 2 or 3 more degrees celcius hotter on GPU and 5 or 6 degrees on CPU when going from 3.6 GHz to 4.2 GHz. The fans are very quiet. Yes they will make some noise under load but not enough that you will notice them with your speakers on. Either pick this thing up now or wait for the Gsync model coming soon. You won't regret this purchase

This laptop has been nothing but trouble since I got it. First, 4k isn't compatible with way too many things in gaming, making the 4k screen more of a hassle than a feature. After a few months the screen developed a blotch in the middle of it, I sent it back for it to be repaired and after getting it back it has multiple stuck pixels.

Nice laptop, bad power supply
This is a very nice laptop. It's great looking, very fast and has a gorgeous display. Unfortunately the power supplies are junk. My third one in 4 months just failed. They all fail the same way, they stop working and start making a soft clicking noise. Of course EVGA's replacement policy is such that they will only send you a new one after the broken one gets to them, unless you are will to put a deposit on a credit cardI've been told the power supply from the Dell M4800 will work as well and is much better. I'm going to try one of those.Update : Picked up a power supply for a Dell M6800. Same wattage (240W), same voltage (19.5v) and same plug. Worked out of the box, let's see if it lasts better.Final update : It's been 8 months since I moved to the Dell M6800 power supply with my SC17. I have not had a single problem since. Both the laptop and the power supply have been flawless under daily use. It's too bad that EVGA bundles since a great laptop with such a crappy power brick and that their support handles this prevalent problem in this manner.

I love this laptop
I love this laptop. It's great; the best I've ever used. But there are a few issues... The power supply that comes with it is extremely flaky, and I had to go through RMA twice - once for a weak hinge and then a monitor issue. EVGA's customer support has been *absolutely stellar* though, replacing the power supplies and assisting me with my problems expediently.

Do not buy!!
Would not buy, after using it to actually game with, this laptop doesn't play very well. You can only press up to 3 keys at once because of hardware limitations, and the computer can barely handle games like PUBG on low settings. I constantly get FPS lag while in game.

If you're a hard-core touchpad user, stay away.
The clickpad (touchpad with embedded buttons) is centered on laptop base, not under keyboard, so while you are typing your right hand covers it and your right palm heel presses right next to it. For me, the typing cursor jumps to the mouse cursor every 20 or so keystrokes---because the pad spuriously signals taps, interpreted as mouse clicks. Even adjusting settings to maximum palm check and heaviest touch (so that to send a tap you have to strike the pad squarely---really not practical), during typing I still get spurious tap events, even when my hands are entirely 1/2" or more away from pad's surface.I suspect the spurious signaling is from force transmitted laterally from my right hand through the palm rest, suggesting that the rest flexes too much. The palm rest surface is plastic, unlike the rest of the case (aluminum). I have seen this flexing issue on Dell Latitude and Precision models for years---one reason I have started looking to other brands. AlienWare boxes don't have this issue, e.g. As far as I can tell, all the manufacturers are using the same basic touchpad technology from Synaptics, so I would blame the packaging. (I even tried installing the touchpad driver available for AlienWare---no change.)I will be sending this unit back and trying something else.
